The
Wilcox County Economic Developer is Trina L. Nicholson.
Never before has Wilcox County had an
Economic Developer, the new developer's mission is: to concentrate specifically on making
Wilcox the strongest county in Alabama's Black Belt region, and subsequently,
the county which offers the highest quality of living in the State of Alabama.
Ms. Nicholson is the official contact for
any economic development work in Wilcox County and is employed by the Wilcox
County Commission.
Some immediate goals of the
Economic Developer are:

To
have each empty retail, commercial or industrial space identified and
prominently advertised |

To create a comprehensive list of
all available retail, commercial, or industrial space, including land that
is twenty (20) acres or more and available for sale |

To complete the outstanding
negotiations for the historic campus of the
Snow Hill Institute |
 |
To
secure five acres of land for the
Snow Hill Community Center |
 |
To assist
Billy Walker Kitchens and Baths to purchase the former Pine
Hill, Stokes Building, academy |
 |
To
establish Alabama works and/or a
training program through the Alabama Industrial Development
Training (AIDT) organization |
 |
To procure the Catherine
Academy for use as a vocational school and job training center |
 |
To create the
Wilcox County Economic
Development Center |
 |
To develop a new
streetscape plan for downtown, Pine Hill, Yellow Bluff and Pine
Apple |

To
assist citizens to start New
Businesses |

To Promote all Wilcox County
Historic Structures |
