Alabama-Tombigbee Regional Commission (ATRC)Services, programs and people...
The Alabama-Tombigbee Regional Council was formed after county and municipal officials, along with leaders of various communities, together as volunteers and in conjunction with the U.S. government and the State of Alabama, determined a need for a sub-state, regional, planning and development organization.
ATRC serves: Choctaw, Clarke, Conecuh, Dallas, Marengo, Monroe, Perry, Sumter, Washington and Wilcox Counties. The commission began in 1969 under the Alabama Legislature's Act No 1126. ATRC will work with its largest budget ever in the years 2002-2003, $8,800,000.00.
ATRC works in several capacities throughout each of the counties in the districts including:
