What is A Youth Development Facilitator?

The Youth Development Facilitator is a person who has been trained to  serve the needs of economically disadvantaged  youth, between the ages of 14-21.  Primarily, the Facilitator focuses on education and career development by serving as a link between the agencies servicing youth, the Policy Council, the schools, businesses and agencies within the community.

The Facilitator is hired by the Department of Children’s Affairs in Montgomery, Alabama in conjunction with the  Wilcox County Children’s Policy Council.  The Facilitator of Wilcox County is one of 31 hired across the State of Alabama.  The Policy Council is proud to be a part of the Statewide effort to change the lives of our youth.

The program is federally funded by ADECA and is a statewide effort to link resources and build economic partnerships in communities in order to provide every youth an opportunity to succeed.
